Shoppers Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi, Amazon and Blacks have all issued safety warnings about these items in the latest product recalls

A number of items sold online and at popular supermarkets have been recalled this week after concerns they could pose health and safety risks.

The products include some flotation aids and life jackets sold on Amazon as well as food items from Aldi, Morrisons and Tesco, including chicken kebabs and chocolate biscuits, which are listed as ‘unsafe to eat’.

A number of stoves, sold in stores including Go Outdoors and Millets, along with a range of ladders, sold through Amazon, have also been recalled in the past seven days.

Traders make product recalls about products that may affect the safety of the people who use them. Anyone who purchased any of the affected products can claim a full refund by returning the item to the point of purchase.

We’ve listed some of this week’s recalls below, giving you the reasons for each issue and what you’ll need to do to seek a refund.

Tesco – Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel & Dreamy Caramel Multipack Chocolate Bars

The Food Standards Agency has issued a notice stating that Tesco is recalling certain Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipacks.

They are being recalled because they contain peanuts, which is not stated on the label – posing a potential health risk to anyone with a peanut allergy.

The affected products are the 6 x 40g Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack with a best before date of 28 February 2025, and the 6 x 40g Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack with a best before date of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025.

If you have bought the above products, do not eat them. Instead, return them to any Tesco store for a full refund. You can contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 505 555.

Aldi – Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb Chicken Kebabs

Aldi has recalled a batch of its Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb Chicken Kebabs due to a labeling error showing an incorrect use-by date, making the product unsafe to eat.

The recall affects the 320g packs with a use by date before 09 July 2024. This date is incorrect and should be 09 June 2024 instead.

Morrisons – Thin Wafer Cooked Chicken

Morrisons has recalled a batch of its thin-boiled chicken because it may contain small pieces of metal, making it unsafe to eat.

All 400g packs with a best before date up to and including 16 June 2024 are affected.

Return the product to the store from which it was purchased for a full refund.

Amazon – Rikade Telescopic Ladders

A variety of black and unpainted Rikade brand telescopic ladders sold through Amazon have been recalled because they pose a serious risk of injury. The safety features designed to protect hands may fail when the ladders are dropped during use and cannot support a sufficient load before breaking and falling. This means that the user may fall from a height.

The ladders above 3M also do not include a stabilizer, which means that it may become unstable during use and may fall on the user.

Amazon – HiSEA Relief Aid Size S

The HiSEA product has been assessed as a serious drowning risk, the Office for Product Safety and Standards said.

The Size S product was advertised as a life jacket, but was identified as a buoyancy aid when purchased and therefore does not provide the same level of protection. In addition, the jacket did not meet the minimum buoyancy requirement.

The affected product has an ASIN code of B09YRPD6TP. Amazon has since removed the listing, but please contact their customer service support if you have purchased one.

Go Outdoors, Go Outdoors Speed, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors – OEX Folding Gas Stoves

Two styles of OEX branded folding gas stoves have been recalled, and both styles are on sale from January 2023.

The Novo Folding Stove and the Savo Folding Stove from OEX have been found to pose a risk of fire, explosion and burns. It has been recognized that the gas hose supplied in the products may degrade over time, resulting in gas leakage and the potential for hose ignition.

Owners must stop using the affected stoves immediately and return them to the place of purchase.

The products were recalled and withdrawn from sale. Affected stoves can be returned to any of the following stores: Go Outdoors, Go Outdoors Express, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors.

Go Outdoors, Go Out Speed, Blacks, Millets, Fishing Republic and Ultimate Outdoors – Vango Folding Gas Stoves

Similarly, two styles of Vango branded folding gas stoves with a hose have also been recalled for the same reasons.

On sale from September 2022, the Folding Gas Stove ACXSTOVE DAKZ36 and the Folding Stove with Windshield and Piezo ACXSTOVE DEWZ36 are also known to be at risk of fire, explosions and burns due to the fact that the hose may degrade over time, which causing gas leaks and possible hose fires.
