Services at Heathrow Airport and London Paddington were disrupted amid urgent track repairs

An emergency services incident which disrupted trains towards Gatwick Airport has been cleared and services have returned to normal.

But Great Western Rail services are being disrupted for passengers trying to get to London’s major airport, after a track fault near Southall also hit Heathrow-bound trains.

The Heathrow Express between Heathrow Terminal 5 and London Paddington is also affected, as are Elizabeth Line services.

Some tube lines favor large and small delays and part closures.

Interference with tubes

There are minor delays on the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines and major delays on the Urban line due to a hedgerow failure at Wembley Park.

As a result, trains running between Reading and Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Submissions are expected until the end of the day.

It affects Great Western Railway, Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line services.

Lins reopens between Reading and Gatwick Airport

Emergency services have completed their work between Reading and Winnersh and all lines have reopened.

Trains that were earlier disrupted between Reading at Gatwick Airport are now able to run as scheduled, National Rail said.

The failure of the mainline trains points

A point failure is delaying Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern trains from Euston, National Rail said.

It means that trains have to run at a reduced speed on some lines, so some services may be canceled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Routes affected are: West Coast Avanti between London Euston and Birmingham New Street / Chester / Holyhead / Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester Piccadilly / Blackpool North / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh

London North West Railway between London Euston and Tring; and also between London Euston and St Albans Abbey / Milton Keynes Central / Birmingham New Street / Crewe.

Submissions are expected until 4pm.

Canary Wharf Tube station closed after man ‘falls from height’

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he “fell from a height” at Canary Wharf Tube station.

West Jubilee Line trains were not stopping at Canary Wharf Tube station, which was told to be evacuated, but the station has now fully reopened.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 12.50pm today to reports of a person who had fallen from a height at Canary Wharf Underground Station.

“We dispatched resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in an ambulance, an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”

A British Transport Police spokesman said the man had serious injuries. They said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Jubilee and City delays continue

Significant delays continue on the Jubilee Lines and City Lines following a signal failure.

The fault at Wembley Park has now been fixed, but both lines are still reporting significant delays.

TfL earlier advised passengers to avoid the Jubilee Line if possible due to the disruption.

Emergency incident halts Gatwick Airport trains

An emergency services incident has halted South West Rail services to Gatwick Airport.

The incident between Reading and Winnersh means all lines are closed.

Trains will be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes, National Rail says.

SWR services between Reading and Gatwick Airport and Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Waterloo are affected.

Submissions are expected until 4pm.

The Elizabeth Line disruption is expected to last all day

Urgent track repairs in the Southall area mean some lines are blocked, National Rail said.

As a result, trains running between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

This includes the Elizabeth Line, although no delays are currently being reported by TfL.

Serious delays on the Urban Line

The same signal fault at Wembley Park that is causing problems for the Jubilee Line is causing major delays on the Urban Line.

There is no service on the line between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate as engineers work to resolve the issue.

Avoid the Jubilee Line, commuters said

Commuters are being told to avoid the Jubilee Line after a signal failure caused significant delays.

There is no service between Neasden and Stanmore due to a signal failure at Wembley Park.

The rest of the line is also severely delayed.

TfL told passengers in a message: “Avoid the line where possible.”

Heathrow trains hit by Elizabeth Line track failure

Commuters are being warned of disruption on the Elizabeth Line until the end of the day due to a track failure in west London.

Trains running between Reading / Heathrow Airport and London Paddington may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

This is causing delays on the Elizabeth Line.

Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services are also affected.

Submissions are expected until the end of the day.

The affected services above ground and the South respond as police to trace a casualty

Emergency services are responding to a casualty on the road between Peckham Rye and Surrey Quays / London Bridge.

While they do their work, every line is blocked.

It means that on the Overground, trains will not run between Clapham Junction and Surrey Quays.

Southern Rail services are currently unable to operate on the line through South Bermondsey, meaning London Bridge to East Croydon or Beckenham Junction services will be canceled until further notice.

Submissions are expected until 12 noon.
