No7 expands its skincare range into the best Future ever, and here’s why it’s worth buying

No7’s latest skincare range is backed by science and still at a wallet-friendly price. (No 7 / Yahoo Life UK)

No7 is a skincare brand best known for its powerful anti-aging serums and hydrating moisturisers, but one of its newest launches, unveiled in April 2023, offered the most advanced formulas the science of it yet. Future Renew is now the biggest collection on record, which includes an SPF40 day cream, a night cream, a serum and an eye cream, which the brand says helps to “reverse the appearance of the skin”.

It was 15 years since its launch, as the No7 scientific research team discovered a ‘super-peptide’ called Pepticology – the biggest cosmetic science innovation in the history of the brand. As you’d expect from this expertly created brand, it’s been rigorously tested in 37 studies involving over 4,200 people, making it “the most extensive and diverse testing program in No7’s history.”

The four-piece collection has rave reviews from customers and is also a firm favorite in my skincare routine. Effective, sensitive to the skin and reasonably priced for the innovation inside each bottle, it’s no wonder it’s a big hit.

Fast forward to September 2023 and No7 announced Future Renew as the fastest selling range in the brand’s history. Very impressive. Before launch, it amassed a waiting list of 94,000 eager customers, and sold more products in its first two weeks than any other No7 launch.

On the day it launched at Boots, one item from the collection was sold every two seconds, with a whopping 500,000 transactions in the first four weeks. That’s great stuff.

So popular in fact, No7 Future Renewal Damage Reversing Serum has now been named Boots’ best selling skincare product of 2023. Followed quickly by Future Renewal Day Cream SPF40 and Future Renewal Night Cream. Do you want to know more? Here’s everything you need.

How does this ‘super-peptide’ blend work?

The science behind Future Renew is quite complex but quite simply, the ‘super-peptide’ blend tricks the skin into thinking it’s damaged, which starts its recovery and renewal process.

As a result, it boosts the production of collagen and fibrillin – also known as the main components of skin plumpness and elasticity. This complete ecosystem means it can more effectively combat skin damage caused by sun exposure, environmental pollution, stress, sleep, temperature and nutrition.

After 15 years of scientific research, No7 discovered the world's first super-peptide technology called Pepticology™, which can be seen exclusively in the No7 Future Renew™ range. No7’s Head of Scientific Research, Dr Mike Bell, explained: “The new peptide blend therefore supports the skin’s natural self-repair mechanisms, targeting signs of cumulative damage both on the surface and below the surface. This is a world first technology that is only available from No.7. We believe it will be a game changer for consumers.”

With multiple benefits to the formula, such as tackling fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, skin tone, dryness and loss of firmness – it has plenty of bold claims and I was keen to put them to the test.

No7 launches a new Future Renew product for 2024

Due to popular demand, No7 has just added a new product to the Future Renew range, SPF 50 which is designed to not only protect your skin against sun damage, but also reduce the signs of ageing.

UV sunlight is the main cause of visible skin damage, which is why sun cream is so important. In fact, 80% of premature skin aging is caused by the sun, causing the appearance of fine lines, uneven skin tone and dryness.

With summer just around the corner, this SPF couldn’t be released at a better time. It’s light, invisible and leaves your skin looking and feeling hydrated.

It also helps to provide a protective shield against UV in the sunlight, formulated with No7’s highest and lightest SPF 50 to date. It includes the same age-fighting peptide technology as the other Future Renew products, as well as hydrating Sodium Hyaluronate.

This serum is the heart of the Future Renewal range and contains a cocktail of powerful ingredients, including niacinamide for brightness, hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamin c for dullness and its patented peptide blend. You can also buy it in a 25ml tube for £34.95.

It’s a gel texture that absorbs quickly and I appreciated the thin nozzle which meant it’s basically impossible to apply too much or make a mess. I used it day and night on cleansed skin before using the moisturiser.

I was impressed with how smooth and soft it made my skin, improving texture in just one week. It also sits well under make-up and didn’t irritate my reactive, sensitive skin prone to hormonal acne and rosacea so it will definitely be a daily part of my skincare routine.

Love a rich moisturizer, a cream that soothes dry skin? You will love this. It is a traditional cream with the added bonus of SPF40.

Formula rich in antioxidants, humectants, active ingredients including vitamin C and rice proteins, which help to brighten and hydrate skin within one week.

I can’t deny that this is a beautiful cream, especially if your skin is feeling dry. Perfect for the changing seasons, it creates a smooth canvas for make-up.

If you have oily skin I would avoid this as it is a thick cream, but if you are dry and dehydrated, this is a good night’s sleep in a jar.

Rich and luxurious, it is formulated with shea butter, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid – three great ingredients to moisturise, hydrate and firm.

Despite its creamy texture, it did not feel heavy, instead it melted into my skin in seconds leaving behind a subtle radiance and a gently floral scent. Within two weeks, I saw an improvement in skin suction.

This eye cream is designed to improve the look of pesky fine lines, puffiness and uneven tone – three things I could always do with help.

It has a beautiful, fast-absorbing gel-to-cream texture, a thin nozzle for easy application and a travel-friendly tube.

However, as nice as it is, I don’t think it’s essential to your skin care routine. The Future Renewal Damage Reversal Serum would do a fine job without the need for an additional eye-specific product, but if you have the budget for an extra step in your routine for a luxury eye cream, this does a nice job.
