Hour-long queues on the M25 clockwise after crash

Drivers are facing delays of around an hour on the M25 on Friday afternoon following a crash.

National Highways warned that motorists should expect around eight miles of congestion on the clockwise carriageway at Junction 27, near Epping, where the outside lane has been closed due to the collision.

The Metropolitan line and the Piccadilly line were partially suspended on Friday evening but have now reopened.

There are still minor delays on the Central and Piccadilly lines.

Delays on the M25 clockwise are now around an hour long

Delays on the M25 clockwise at Junction 27 are now around an hour long, with traffic backed up for eight miles according to National Highways.

Moderate delays on the M25 near Chorleywood

There are delays of up to 50 minutes on the M25 near Rickmansworth following a road traffic collision.

One lane is closed clockwise between J17 and J18.

National Express, which runs coaches, told its customers: “There will be a diversion.

“We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The Elizabeth line could get new operators

TfL has said that five operators have been shortlisted to run the Elizabeth line.

The line opened in May 2022 and has since achieved more than 300 million journeys.

MTR maintains the current contract to run the line until May 2025.

Those on the shortlist to operate it next are MTR, which reclaimed the contract, and Arriva UK Trains, First Keolis, GTS Rail Operations, Sumitomo Corporation and Tokyo Metro Co. Ltd.

The Jubilee Line returns to normal service

The Jubilee line is now back to normal service.

The Underground line was previously severely delayed due to point failure and then electrical works overruns.

The disturbance clears at Moorgate

The disruption has now been cleared at Moorgate, and all train lines are now open.

Planned Overground strikes next week have been called off

Planned strikes next week by London Overground workers have been called off after an improved pay offer, the RMT union says.

Members of the RMT employed by Arriva Rail London on the Overground were to walk out for 48 hours on February 19 and again on March 4 in a dispute over pay.

But the union said Arriva’s previous pay offer had “progressed”, meaning it would not go ahead.

Power cuts hit services at Moorgate

National rail services between Moorgate and Finsbury Park have been disrupted due to an earlier train fault.

This was due to a loss of power at Moorgate, which caused the power to trip several times.

Passengers are being asked to allow at least an extra 30 minutes to complete their journey, or take an alternative route.

Tube services are not affected.

North London Tube Station to remain closed until September

North London Tube station is closed for repairs to remain closed until September.

Essential work to replace the two 26-year-old escalators at Kentishtown Tube station began in June, and TfL indicated it would take a year.

However, due to “unrelated work” also to be carried out, the station is likely to be closed until September – a year and three months since it last opened.

The train line to Gatwick will reopen but disruption is expected

Trains are now able to run again between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport, but passengers are being warned of a reduced service.

The line was closed as emergency services responded to reports that a person had been hit by a train in the area.

Passengers are still being advised to travel later if they can, and to allow an extra 60 minutes for journeys en route.

Minor delays on the Piccadilly Line

There are minor delays on the Piccadilly line between Acton Town and Rayners Lane.

TfL say this is due to train cancellations.

There are also minor delays on the Central line, due to the ongoing shortage of trains.

City line suspended in central London

The Urban line is partially suspended for eight stops between Vicar Street and Aldgate due to the late completion of engineering work.

The rest of the line is seriously delayed.

Trains stopping at Northwick Park and Preston Road are only southbound. Customers are being advised to change at Wembley Park

Delays on the Jubilee line in north London

There are significant delays between Wembley Park and Stanmore on the Jubilee line, TfL said, following the late completion of engineering work.

There are also minor delays between Wembley Park and Stratford.

Gatwick trains suspended after a person was hit on the train

Services to Gatwick Airport have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport.

To allow the emergency services to carry out their work safely, all lines are closed. As a result, trains are being cancelled, delayed up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10am, National Rail said.

Major disruption to services to Stansted Airport due to a signaling fault

A fault in the signaling system at Stansted Airport means that trains to and from the airport could be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

A greatly reduced service is in progress.

National Rail advises that major disruption is expected until 2pm.

The routes affected include Greater Anglia between Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport, and between Stansted Airport and Norwich, and the Stansted Express between London Liverpool Street and the airport.
