Tonight Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois fight for the IBF world heavyweight title in a huge boxing match at Wembley.
Dubois currently holds the belt but this is his first fight as world champion, having been elevated to the position after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title in June as a “present” for the two British fighters who he has already won, choosing to continue with it. rematch against Tyson Fury instead of fulfilling his mandatory obligations.
However, it is Joshua who brings the hype to this highly anticipated tournament as he bids to become a three-time world champion in his first fight back at Wembley in six years.
The 34-year-old appears to be full of confidence in and out of the ring, having lost his way after being knocked out by Andy Ruiz in 2019 and then losing twice to Usyk . Joshua now has the chance to reclaim the IBF world title, and take a big step towards a shot that could be out of doubt.
The recovery from that Usyk defeat has been impressive and increasingly convincing, starting with wins over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius, before Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou were dispatched in brutal fashion.
Joshua faces his fellow Brit for the first time since meeting Dillian Whyte in 2015, with Dubois the man on the other side of the ring in a red-hot atmosphere, with a crowd of up to 96,000 in attendance.
Dubois also lost to Usyk, last year in controversial circumstances, but bounced back to beat Jarrell Miller and more recently Filip Hrgovic, for the IBF interim title. He answered any questions from his heart in those two grim performances, even if they were both punishing encounters.
The 27-year-old now makes the first defense of the overall title against Joshua, with the winner to face either Usyk or Fury next year for each heavyweight belt.

Joshua vs. Dubois Prediction
Joshua has won four fights in a row since his win against Usyk and has looked impressive doing so, and trainer Ben Davison has been positive about returning to a more aggressive style.
Francis Ngannou and Otto Wallin have been swept aside, but this is now a step forward and the power of Dubois will test Joshua’s renewed confidence, and how much he is willing to be beaten to cut himself and be in charge.
Meanwhile, Dubois will have to rise to the occasion, and this is the biggest round of his career. He put in good displays against both Usyk, although he failed to push home his advantage after the below-the-belt punch controversy, and Hrgovic, although he took a lot of punishment in both fights and is certainly not in means to do so here.
The history books suggest that an explosive fight is on the cards, with only one of Dubois’ pro bouts going to points and Joshua only winning one fight that went 12 rounds since 2019. He recently showed that he is on his his best while using his natural power. try to do the job soon.
It’s an interesting contest but Joshua has the experience and sees a new man under Davison. He can get the job done here, and set the stage for a mega-fight with Fury or even a third contest against Usyk in 2025.
