‘Customer incident’ closes lines between Euston and Watford Junction after Barnes knife attack disrupts

Rail lines between London Euston and Watford Junction were closed as emergency services dealt with a “customer incident” near Bushey.

London Overground trains are severely delayed and Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway services are also affected.

National Rail says the disruption is expected to last until at least 2.45pm.

Meanwhile trains are running through Barnes station again after a knife attack left a man fighting for his life.

The station was closed after a man in his 20s was stabbed, who was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

It comes as the M25 in Essex was closed in the opposite direction between J28 near Brentwood and J27 following a crash between a lorry and a van. Two people were taken to hospital after the crash, which caused a massive 20-mile back-up, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

There are currently significant delays on the District Line between Tower Hill and Wimbledon due to a Network Rail signal failure at East Putney.

Two people have been taken to hospital after a major crash involving three lorries and a van has caused major disruption on the M25.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. No other injuries were reported.

Barnes station stabbing: Ambulance crews arrived on scene in 60 seconds

A man, in his 20s, stabbed at Barnes station has been taken to a major trauma centre, London Ambulance Service said.

A spokesman added: “We were called at 7.07am this morning (Thursday 26 September) to reports of a stabbing in Station Road, Barnes.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in an ambulance, an incident response officer and London Airport.

“The first of our teams came in a minute.

“Our teams treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a major trauma center in London as a priority.”

Commuters between Dartford and London Bridge are affected

Commuters are experiencing major disruption this morning after a signaling fault blocked the line between Dartford and London Bridge.

Trains heading towards the capital could be cancelled, revised or diverted through Bexleyheath, causing headaches for thousands of passengers.

Network Rail warns that the disruption is expected to last until at least 11am, urging travelers to check their routes before heading out.

Two people rushed to hospital after the crash on the M25

Two people were taken to hospital after a serious collision on the M25 near junction 28 in the early hours of this morning.

The East of England Ambulance Service undertook a major response, including an air ambulance and hazardous area team, following the crash at 5.56am.

One patient was taken to Queen’s Hospital and another to the Royal London Hospital for Integrative Medicine.

‘There is no place for violence on the railway network’, say the police

Police have condemned a knife attack this morning at Barnes station in south-west London.

Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said: “There is no place for violence on the rail network and detectives are working quickly to investigate the incident.”

The station remains closed while police investigate. Increased patrols are being implemented across the network.

Blackburn added: “The public will see more high visibility patrols in the area and across the network to reassure them.”

M25 closed after lorry crash near Brentwood

The M25 in Essex is closed in the opposite direction between J28 near Brentwood and J27 after a crash between a lorry and a van.

The emergency services are on the scene.

Severe delays are reported from J28 A12 (Brentwood Roundabout / Brook Street) to J27 M11.

Congestion can also be experienced at J30 A13 Cois Locha and west along the A12 and A127.

One clockwise lane has now reopened at J28 after being blocked since 6.50am, but significant delays continue back to J27.

The stabbing victim is in life-threatening condition, police say

Police have confirmed that a person was taken to hospital with ‘life-threatening’ injuries after being stabbed at Barnes station.

A spokesman for British Transport Police told the Standard: “Officers were called to Barnes train station at around 7.10am today (September 26) following reports of a serious assault.

“Paramedics also attended, and one person was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stabbing which are believed to be life-threatening.

“Inquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 89 of 26 September quote.”

The Wi-Fi networks of ten of London’s biggest train stations have been hacked in a “cyber security incident”.

Police are investigating the attack on internet services at 19 stations across the UK managed by Network Rail.

The hack has affected ten stations in London.

They are: Euston, Victoria, King’s Cross, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Liverpool Street, Paddington, Clapham Junction and Waterloo.
