There is more stress and improvement for the Platt family next week after Gail Platt unexpectedly left the hospital. But as the family gathers around the hospital bedside, tensions are high as David feels responsible.
When Jesse Chadwick questions David about his guilt, he pulls away. Are Jesse’s suspicions about David confirmed? Meanwhile, when Shona points out that Jesse has gone back to just No.8, David freaks out.
Damon Hay also calls Sarah and explains that even though he got beat, he’s blamed one of Harvey’s associates for stealing the money, leaving him in the clear.

But Sarah is relieved when Damon says they need to cut all contact and ends the call. Later, Sarah tells Jesse that Damon confirmed that she’s gone from the ordeal with Harvey and apologizes for doubting him.
Soon, Jesse has an announcement that will shock the Platt family. Elsewhere, Bethany prepares breakfast for Daniel Osbourne in the flat but when he comes in without knocking and sees her stoma bag for the first time, Bethany is mortified and yells at him to get out. What can Daniel do to help her?
Meanwhile, with Nick Tilsley out, Toyah Habeeb calls around to keep an eye on Sam Blakeman. At first hostile, Sam moves when Toyah apologizes to him. Nick comes home to find them making models. Nick is impressed with how Toyah managed to win the round for Sam. But when Nick declares that he still loves her, Toyah pulls him in for a kiss. Can they really rekindle their relationship?
Later, Leanne Battersby tells Nick that she can’t face fronting the house after the Institute collapses and advises him to hire someone. Nick offers Toyah a job as a bistro manager, telling Toyah that they have a great team and that he would get Leanne used to seeing them together.
Also on the cobbles, while working on the case of a DS vandalized car Lisa Swain realizes that the car was damaged on the same road that Joel Deering was attacked on the same night and the owner remembers hearing two men arguing outside his flat. She tells Dee Dee Bailey that the car was hit by a red car and when Lisa finds out that Ronnie’s red car was in for repairs, she confronts him in The Rovers.
Later in the apartment, Carla is praising Lisa for juggling work and motherhood but as Carla lays a comforting hand on her, Lisa shrugs and quickly leaves, leaving Carla stunned.
Back at home, when Betsy walks into the bathroom and sees Lisa’s blue body she’s not sure about her excuse for doing it at body combat class. Finding a bottle of painkillers dated 28 September. She tells Mason and is shocked when he says Joel was killed on the 27th.
When Daisy Midgeley mentions that Joel was in a fight the night he was killed Betsy is shaken. Meanwhile, Ryan Connor questions whether Carla was honest about her own movements on the night in question. Carla insists that she took advantage of the factory lights being turned off.
Lisa lies to Betsy, realizing that her bruises were an office injury, and Carla admits to Bobby Crawford that she met at the factory the night of Joel’s murder, but told the police she was at home in the evening. with him and Ryan.
As the concern over Joel’s death continues, at the station, Lisa informs Kit Green that if Joel was planning to go on the run, he would have some personal belongings with him and if they find that he could lead them to his killer. . Kit is angry at her interruption. A formal complaint was made against her, Lisa accuses Daisy and Kit.
There is also drama as when Liam Connor unknowingly steps out in front of Chesney Brown’s car, Mason Radcliffe grabs him and pulls him to safety. Mason tells Liam that he is sorry for the bullying and assures him that he is a changed person. But after witnessing their intense exchange, Dev Alahan tells Gary Windass who takes matters into his own hands.
And, when Cassie Plummer suggests she’s going on a date later, Steve McDonald has a bad look at the man she’s dating. Cassie thinks he’s jealous. But when her date doesn’t go to plan Steve comes to the rescue, takes her to The Rovers and boosts her self-esteem. Is the spark between them reigning?
The next day at No.1, Ken didn’t mind that Cassie and Steve spent the night together. Adam Barlow calls around and is concerned about getting Ken out for airport lounge tickets and first class flights. Adam tells Steve that he is concerned when Ken is getting money to fund his and Cassie’s sedentary lifestyle and fears he is in debt and they agree that a family intervention is needed once Ken and Cassie return from Porto.
