Clapham Junction-Waterloo trains were halted after a death on the tracks as new Tube strikes were called

Commuters between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo are severely disrupted after a person has died on the tracks.

British Transport Police received a report shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday of a casualty on the tracks near Clapham Junction station. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

South Western Railway said they have received an emergency call from a train between the stations and all trains in the area have been stopped on Wednesday morning.

National Rail has warned that there will be disruption until 4pm.

Passengers are facing an additional strike break on the Tube and Aslef has announced two one-day walkouts on Monday, April 8 and Saturday, May 4.

Meanwhile motorists were warned of rush hour disruption after a serious crash closed the M26 in Kent eastbound between the M25 and M20.

The motorway was closed following the crash involving a car and a van at around 11pm on Tuesday night.

A man dies in a crash on the M26

A man has died following a collision on the M26 near Sevenoaks.

Kent Police said a blue BMW 1 Series and a white VW Caddy were involved in the incident which happened between the junctions for the M25 and Wrotham Heath shortly after 11pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended and confirmed that the driver of the VW, a man in his thirties, was dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The other driver suffered minor injuries.

Trains between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo were delayed by up to 80 minutes

Trains between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo could be delayed by up to 80 minutes after a person died on the tracks.

National Rail has said that all lines have reopened following the incident but that some services may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 4pm.

Person dies on tracks near Clapham Junction station

British Transport Police (BTP) have confirmed that there is a casualty on the tracks near Clapham Junction station.

The force said they received a report of the incident shortly after 7.30am on Wednesday.

Paramedics and firefighters were also in attendance but unfortunately one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not considered suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, the BTP said.

Trains on the Northern Line were stopped due to a fire alert

National Rail has warned that there will be major disruption between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction until 4pm.

London The issue is also affecting overground routes between Dalston Junction and Clapham Junction.

Lines blocked between Clapham Junction and London Waterloo

Serious delays on the Bakerloo Line

The Bakerloo Line between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone is currently experiencing significant delays and Transport for London is fixing a signal failure.

Transport for London has told travelers to use the Urban Line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge instead.
