Liverpool need one more European return under Jurgen Klopp as the Reds travel to Atalanta looking to keep their Europa League hopes alive.
Klopp’s side would have preferred to reach the Dublin final on May 22 and give the German manager a fitting farewell, but Atalanta lived up to the script as they stunned Anfield with a 3-0 victory in the first leg of the quarter-final this week last.
Liverpool previously overturned a 3-0 win under Klopp, famously against Barcelona and Lionel Messi in the Champions League in 2019, but that was at Anfield. But Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace means the Reds are without a win in three games. Follow all the action below plus get the Latest odds and tips here:

How Liverpool moved up in the title race thanks to a win against Man United
18:50 , Chris Wilson
Liverpool’s recent form has been in stark contrast to most of the season, and they are on the verge of a disappointing European exit and exit from the title race.
4-3 in the FA Cup ended the pursuit of four and, Klopp said, “it was like a disaster because we were so good and we lost it anyway”. After 2-2 in the Premier League Liverpool had a couple of wins at Anfield, against Atalanta and Crystal Palace on Sunday. “I’m not sure how we particularly helped United games,” Klopp said.
If it suggests that his mental monsters lost their nerve in a crucial week, Liverpool’s solution felt the cause of fatigue and form, a previously prolific side poor in both boxes, for a team that, as players return, is theoretically as strong . as they have been for months but have just achieved the two worst results of the campaign.

Liverpool are certain to secure qualification for next year’s Champions League, but their performance tonight could have an impact on the upcoming season for other English teams.
The Premier League’s hopes of securing an extra Champions League place in next season’s revamped competition have been hit by another poor night in Europe.
The Champions League is being expanded to a 36-team competition from 2024/25 with two of the four extra places awarded to countries whose best teams perform in this season’s European competitions.
As Uefa has confirmed on its website, England are currently third in the race, behind Italy and Germany, which would mean that Serie A and the Bundesliga will get fifth place in the Champions League next season.
