Princess Diana is one of the most recognizable figures of the late twentieth century, but few people know about her descendants as a member of the Spencer family. The British noble brood dates back to the 1500s and is distantly associated with Winston Churchill, Audrey Hepburn and even George Washington.
Diana had four siblings, three of whom are still alive today: Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. Their older brother, John Spencer, died within hours of his birth in 1960.

As for Charles Spencer, he has seven children from three different marriages, and Lady Kitty, Eliza and Amelia are his first three daughters with his wife Victoria Lockwood, formerly known as Victoria, Countess Spencer. Below, learn more about Princess Diana’s nieces, who followed in her footsteps as fashion fixtures.
Lady Kitty Spencer
Kitty Spencer was born in 1990, like her mother, as a model. She is currently signed to Storm Model Management, the agency known for finding Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Anya Taylor-Joy. Along with her sisters, she was raised in South Africa.
In 2009, Kitty was awarded as a delegate at the Bal Crillon de Debutantes in Paris, one of the most prestigious débutante balls in Europe. The young ladies at the event are often filtered out in custom designer duds by labels such as Chanel, Lanvin and Vivienne Westwood.
Kitty made her runway debut for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017, walking in their fall fashion show. She has since appeared in several of their presentations, and also in the spring 2018 advertising campaign. Kitty officially became a global ambassador for the house in 2021, after being appointed as an ambassador for high-jewellery brand Bulgari in 2018.
“Working with [Dolce & Gabbana] It is always a new experience, a unique opportunity to rediscover Italian culture, cuisine, taste and lifestyle,” she said in a statement at the time. “When I wear their pieces I feel their passion and I feel like the best version of myself.”
As for her personal style, Kitty loves vintage fashion, especially drawn to designs from the mid-twentieth century, including the ’60s styles seen on “Mad Men”.
Like her late aunt Diana, Kitty is passionate about philanthropy. She is an ambassador for Centrepoint, a charity which supports young homeless people, where Diana was a patron.
In 2021, Kitty married South African-British millionaire Michael Lewis, chairman of the fashion retail company Foschini Group. She wore five different custom-made dresses by Dolce & Gabbana, with the Victorian-inspired lace gown being the most understated – drawing comparisons to Grace Kelly and her cousin Kate Middleton – she wore down the aisle.
Kitty and her husband welcomed their first child, a daughter named Athena, in 2023.
Lady Eliza Spencer
Eliza and her twin Amelia were born in 1992. Taking after Kitty, they grew up in South Africa and eventually became debutantes.
From 2023, the twins are brand ambassadors for British jewelry label Boodles. Both are also signed to Storm Model Management and are regularly seen at fashion weeks around the world, where they have been front-running fixtures for Nina Ricci, Michael Kors and Brunello Cucinelli, among others. Eliza and Amelia, like Kitty, have walked the runway: the twins made their fashion debut at the 2023 Josh Birch Jones fashion show in London.
Eliza is in a relationship with Channing Millerd, chief operating officer of DataLedger, a blockchain service provider. The couple celebrated their eight year anniversary this year. “It’s been an incredible journey,” Eliza wrote of her partner on Instagram. “I can’t wait for everything that is yet to come. I love you forever and ever.”
Dear Lady Amelia Spencer
Although Amelia is also signed to Storm Model Management, she is currently employed as a wedding planner in her hometown in South Africa. “I’m a romantic,” she told The Telegraph in 2021. “I love the structure of wedding planning, the timeline. I am a people person. I enjoy working with everyone, from the bride and groom to the parents.”
In 2023, Lady Amelia married her college sweetheart, fitness and nutrition coach Greg Mallett, whom she met while studying at the University of Cape Town. Amelia walked down the aisle in a custom Atelier Versace wedding dress (her late aunt was a fan of the Italian house and a close friend of founder Gianni Versace).
Along with her twins, Amelia is an ambassador for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides wigs for children with cancer.
Both Amelia and Eliza were often dressed as children, a tradition, the former says, that is still true today. “We’re halves,” Amelia told the National Association of Jewelers in 2023. “We have the same taste in clothes, and we’ll arrive at dinner or meet up on the day dressed to match. When choosing an outfit for an event, the only way we can do this fairly is to get the person who chooses in the first place.”
