Amanda and Clive Owen reunite for a new TV show after a famously ruined marriage

Two years after Our Yorkshire Farm stars Amanda Owen and Clive split, they are reuniting for new TV show Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.

As they get back together, the exes admit that fame – and undoubtedly Our Yorkshire Farm – was the downfall of their 22-year marriage. They became popular reality stars on the set of their fly-on-the-wall series Our Yorkshire Farm, with their nine children – Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine and Nancy.

Despite their amicable split, the Owens may not be getting back together romantically but they are filming a new show about renovating a farmhouse – known locally as Anty John’s – in a remote location as a whole family.

Since their marriage broke down and Our Yorkshire Farm wrapped up, their son Reuben landed his own spin-off series Life In The Dales with Channel 5. He put the spotlight on the young farmer and invited the cameras into his life when he went abroad to France for the first time with his girlfriend Sarah at the time. Their relationship also broke up after filming.

Amanda said: “It’s great that More4 has given us the opportunity to show what we do best, working as a team and fighting the elements and trying to get the farm back to near its former glory .It’s no exaggeration to say that filming in the open air was a challenge for the Wise Owl film crew on an exposed hill in Swaledale, but their commitment and enthusiasm never faltered. home.”

Channel 4’s commissioning editor, Jayne Stanger, said: “We are delighted to welcome Amanda back to More4 and are delighted that Amanda, Clive and their amazing family have had this incredible access to take on such a challenging reform. . Mark Robinson, executive producer at Wise Owl Films, said: “Filmed over the past two years, this is the incredible past and present story of a house with an important and interesting history that has been lovingly restored by a family who They are Yorkshire Dales through and through. . We were privileged to watch the rebirth of ‘Anty John’s’ tile by tile, stone by stone, throughout the four seasons in a beautiful but unforgiving setting where that hard work was often at the mercy of the elements.”

Back in 2011, Owens Farm first appeared on TV on ITV’s The Dales. It triggered a series of events that would eventually end the couple’s 22-year marriage. At first, Amanda was putting pen to paper writing books and talking about the farm. The whole family will then star in their own Channel 5 reality series Our Yorkshire Farm.

Reflecting on the breakdown of their marriage and their constant falling out, Amanda said that every conversation with her started by saying that Clive was taking care of their brood while she was there and it didn’t matter to them who changed the nappies or who are sheared. the sheep’.

“But really, it was important to Clive,” she wrote in a new column for the Daily Mail. Amanda said it was “difficult” for her husband to be paid more for talking about farming than doing it. “Clive didn’t like me being off the farm, and that led to arguments. I would return home not knowing what to expect or what to respond to. I felt I’m the tension in the air and waiting for the explosion.”

Behind the scenes, Amanda said she tried to “overcompensate” every time she found out Clive was pushing her. As Clive himself admitted, he was “jealous” and even “harmed” of his wife because of the success she had with her career.

During the covid pandemic in 2020, they started spending more time apart and found that it worked better for them. The Owens decided to split up and lived in two different houses within walking distance of each other, allowing the children to spend time wherever they liked.

Amanda embarked on a new romantic relationship with Rob Davies, her longtime friend and estranged husband. The pastor said the media “broke” the romantic relationship and now they are no longer in touch.

Amanda and Owen chose to end Our Yorkshire Farm due to their split, meaning the Channel 5 show has never ended. After their marriage broke up, they felt their farm was “besieged” by the media as reporters would show up knocking on their doors and leaving messages.

They both see each other as “survivors” and great parents. Now, after everything, they have reunited for their new TV show, although they are not romantically together. Clive wrote to the newspaper: “It’s been hard to go through all this in the public eye, and who knows what the next chapter will be. But that’s the beauty of life.”
