The countdown to London’s most stylish night is underway as the nominees for the 2024 Fashion Awards are officially announced.
The event – once known as the British Fashion Awards – will be packed out at the Royal Albert Hall on December 2 to celebrate the industry’s talent across a number of popular categories; These range from the prestigious Designer of the Year Award, which goes to a British or international designer who has helped define “the shape of global fashion”, to this year’s best model, which “recognizes the global influence of a model who, abroad. over the past 12 months, it has led the industry.”
There are also awards for the best British Menswear and Womenswear Designer in Britain, the best Accessories Designer, as well as the much-anticipated New Establishment awards for rising stars . These are accomplished with pre-announced recognition awards; this year Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, Global Editor-in-Chief of 10 Magazine, 10 Men Magazine and 10+ Magazine, will receive a Special Recognition Award for her contribution to the fashion industry, while Isabella was presented to the American photographer Tyler Mitchell. The other winners will be revealed on the night, which is sponsored by Pandora this year. As front runners, however, John Galliano, who is up for Designer of the Year thanks to his work with Maison Margiela, is in a strong position after his stunning Spring 2024 couture collection. Jonathan Anderson is likely to go home with his hands full, too , after ensuring that Loewe, where he is creative director, beat Miu Miu and Prada to become “the hottest brand in the world”, according to shopping app Lyst, this quarter. It has been nominated for three top design awards, and won the Designer of the Year Award last year.
As well as those hoping for prizes, the audience will undoubtedly be packed with the best and goodness of fashion. Last year’s guests included Kate Moss, Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amal Clooney and Pamela Anderson.
