Motorists are facing around 10 miles of delays around the Dartford Junction on the M25 clockwise following a vehicle fire.
All lanes were closed at 10.25am on the M25 clockwise from junction 1a (Swanscombe) to junction 1b (A296 Prince’s Road, Dartford).
By 12.35pm all four lanes were open again.
Queues formed around the border between Essex and Kent after authorities closed the road at around 10.25am.
Elsewhere, traffic was queued for around four miles on the M25 anti-clockwise near Waltham Cross, north London, on Friday due to roadworks.
The slow congestion stretched from junction 26 (Waltham Abbey) to junction 25 (A10 Enfield) around a construction area, according to live data presented by Inrix.
On the Tube, there were long delays on the Northern line after a fire alert at Colindale.
There is no Overground service between West Croydon and Sydenham due to a signal failure. The disruption is expected to last until 3pm.
All other lines have good service.
Two lanes now closed on the M25 at Dartford – two back open

There is congestion westbound to J30 (A13 Cois Locha) over the bridge.
Lanes one and two (of four) are still closed, after a 25 minute wait until 10.45am.
There is also a counter-clockwise queue due to a specific failure.
London Overground part suspended

There is currently no service between West Croydon and Sydenham due to a signal failure at West Croydon.
Transport for London has said that London Underground tickets are being accepted by any reasonable means.
Severe delays on Northern Tube line after fire alert

The Northern Tube line is no longer partially suspended but there are still delays following a fire alert at Colindale.
The entire line is understood to be facing delays following the incident on Friday morning.

The tailbacks around Dartford Crossing have now stretched back to around 10 miles, live data shows.
Two lanes are now back in place after the fire earlier this morning but it is taking some time for traffic to adjust to them.

Now there are only minor delays on three Tube lines

Earlier problems that saw the Northern section of the line suspended have now been cleared, according to Transport for London data.
It now shows that there is a slight delay on that line, as well as the Piccadilly and Central.
This could delay Tube trains by only a few minutes – if at all.
The Overground is still partially suspended.

The delays are from junction 1a (A206 / QE2 Bridge) to junction 1b (A296 / Dartford).
There is now congestion halfway west to J29 A127 Romford, west over the QE2 Bridge.

Passengers heading to London Stansted Airport are experiencing service delays after a tree fell on the Liverpool Street exit line.
Lines have reopened after a tree blocked the railway at Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire.
Trains running between Broxbourne and Bishops Stortford could be canceled or delayed by up to 50 minutes while the service is restored, Greater Anglia has warned.
The line continues via Stortford to Cambridge or Stansted Airport.
