Intermittent fasting

For those aiming to shed a few pounds, Josie’s insights into intermittent fasting may be the key. She attributes her significant weight loss to eating within an eight-hour window, which not only helps reduce calorie intake but also reduces bloating by ensuring a longer gap between the last meal of the day and sleep time.

“How you eat your meals is very important. I eat my meals within eight hours. So I would wake up in the morning and eat my breakfast around 8 or 9am, then my lunch would be at noon, 1pm, and then I would have tea at 4pm, so it was digested in an eight hour period, which gives me 16 hours to metabolize and digest my food in right,” said Josie.

Be realistic with your goals

“I got two pairs of trainers, I’m going on a spa day with my friends, and it just makes you look forward to the 6lb weight loss. You can do it every 7lb, but you’ll gain 6lb more treats,” she chuckled. “So break it down into small parts and really reward yourself – and believe it or not, weight loss can actually be good fun.”

Josie also emphasized the importance of self-compassion, especially for new mothers dealing with postpartum body changes. “My only advice is not to stress yourself,” she said.

“I’ve had a lot of questions from new mummies and I know when babies are born they gain a lot of weight, but don’t push yourself. You’ve just brought life into the world, you have to body to recover from birth.
