Next week on EastEnders, Karen’s surprise return causes trouble for some Walford residents, Linda receives a retirement offer and George’s story is revisited.

1. The reopening of the Cafe raises alarm bells
Walford will get its cafe back next week, but the big day is causing a problem for those who know Keanu’s body lives beneath it.
Before the first day, Nish and Kat clock a problem with a leak that the floor may need to be replaced.
As five of the Six come together to discuss the issue, it soon becomes clear that this may be Denise’s last…
2. Bernie has a shock
Bernie needs a steady income to get her job back at the cafe by impressing Nish, and it’s a good job when he goes so far as to offer her a job as manager.
And while Bernie later makes a mistake that puts that new job on the line, her attentions are soon diverted when she sees that someone has unexpectedly returned to Walford – Karen.
3. Denise debates admitting everything
The news of the leak at the cafe makes Denise walk further, and she goes to Pastor Clayton, who encourages her to confess the secrets that are pressing her.
After writing a letter to Jack, it becomes clear that Denise needs a lot of help when she begins to fake again and sees Keanu.
4. Linda receives a retirement offer
With the end of his treatment looming, Alfie decides it’s time to take a holiday after opening up to Ian about recent events.
Meanwhile, Linda is still struggling to keep up with the events of Christmas, and, despite some awkwardness between them, Alfie invites her to go on the trip with him.
5. Ruffles feathers when Karen comes back
Karen was hardly the most welcoming person in Walford when she left, and she must face the consequences when she returns to find out what happened to Keanu at Christmas .
Phil is definitely not her biggest fan, who immediately starts trying to get his money back from her.
But when Karen decides to make it about Kat and Nish’s romance instead, it looks like he’ll have his work cut out for him.
6. Linda prepares to flee from Walford
Wanting to get Karen out of Walford as soon as possible, Kathy decides to report her to the police so she can be brought down for her role in the kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Linda is devastated when she learns that Karen is back in town, and Alfie’s holiday offer makes plans to escape. Will Kathy and Linda go through with their plan?
7. Eddie hides a secret
Eddie didn’t make the best impression the last time he was in Albert Square, and Gina isn’t too happy to see him back to receive an award for promoting diversity in boxing.
Eddie is soon on his side when he and George give boxer-in-training Denzel some tips, but Eddie’s tough approach causes friction. And later after a call with Gloria, it becomes clear that Eddie may have other reasons for being home…
8. Kat is suspicious of Nish
A new coat causes a bit of a stir when Kat isn’t too happy with the gift she receives from Nish.
After falling out with Priya, Nish is not happy to see her walk away and leave the new coat behind.
Afterwards, Nish insists that she wear it – a move that Jean watches anxiously. Jean offers some advice that Kat wants to be careful with, but will she listen?
9. George and Cindy hit it off
Gina expresses her concern about Eddie to Cindy, Gina is happy that her mother understands where she is coming from. And Cindy decides that she should try to talk to George about the situation.
Unfortunately for Cindy, George is not happy that she has decided to interfere, and turns the tables by bringing her own mistakes as a parent into the conversation…
10. Linda and Karen fighting
With Karen on the Square, Linda fears how she will fare when she comes face to face with the mother of the man she killed.
And it doesn’t take long before the dreaded moment happens. How will Linda respond? Meanwhile, Linda’s behavior elsewhere goes unnoticed when Lauren brings her up on a secret drinking…
11. Kat’s problems continue
With her new romance with Nish already on the rocks, things don’t get any better for Kat when she and Priya have yet another argument. And not only that, she also finds out that Tommy has made a shocking decision.
Excited that her boyfriend has decided to move back in with Phil, Kat decides she can’t let him stand and marches over to number 55 to meet him. Is she about to make the situation even worse?
12. Linda continues to destroy
Despite assuring Elaine that she has given up alcohol for quite some time, hardly any time passes before Lauren finds her buying wine in the Minute Mart.
When Lauren insists that she takes care of Annie, Kathy sees through the situation and soon she and Linda are at odds. Ignoring all pleas for sobriety, Linda goes to the Albert – she’s not ready to quit drinking yet…
